Fragmentation and Conversion of Agricultural Land: Analysis of Values to Inform Agricultural Land Use Policy

Research on public attitudes and values helps create balanced provincial land use policy

Summary

This project will examine public attitudes and values related to agricultural land loss in Alberta. Currently, Alberta does not have provincial public policy that addresses the loss or fragmentation of agricultural land due to development and urban expansion, despite public concern around this issue. This research will produce empirical, unbiased information that can be used in provincial and regional planning, and in public policy development.
